A clock from the 19th century, by G. E. H. Servant

19th century clock made by Georges Emile Henri Servant.

All ornaments are of gilded bronze.

The item is fully original. Confirmation of authenticity is the fact that the number stamped on the back of the clock mechanism is identical to the number stamped on the bronze.

The clock is in very good condition.

Georges Emile Henri Servant (1828-1890) worked in his father's foundry on Vieille-du-Temple Street from 1855, specializing in Egyptian and Greek subjects.

He exhibited at many international exhibitions of the period, including the World Exhibition in Paris in 1855 and in London in 1862, where he was highly regarded for the good quality of his work.

His success was confirmed at the 1867 Paris Exposition, where he received a gold medal for his Neo-Greek and Egyptian models. In 1874 he received the highest award, the France Ordre national de la Légion d'Honneur.
